PILKINGTON was built on the beach in 1900 at Marshside, Southport and named in honour of Sir George Pilkington who was the MP for Southport. Her builder Peter Wright fitted her with an iron keelson and ballast ingots moulded to fit their locations. Registered LL78 in Dec 1900, the Wright's went on to build racing yachts and other craft when the demand for Shrimp declined and the fleet of over 20 boats were gradually sold off or converted to yachts. Pilkington, 40ft a National Historic Vessel, rigged as a Gaff Yawl and resides in France. She is the last known of the Southport Prawners. Built on a beach in 1900, by the Wright & Sons, as trade for prawns declined so the vessels that were built were sold off or converted into yachts. Pilkington was used for fishing along the North West Coast of the UK. North Wales / Liverpool. and was raced in with the Fleet of Nobbies and Prawners.
Her last survey was in 2014, she is in fine fettle. New Bukh engine installed 2017.

Clyde is a Fife/McMillian designed 6 Metre, built at the Fife Yard in 1955. She has had an interesting history and, during her current ownership of 37 years, has enjoyed racing and cruising in Brittany, France.
In 1984 Clyde received a hull restoration which saw her fitted with strengthening around the mast, new deck configuration and aluminium spars. The last major work to be undertaken was the fitting of her new Oregon pine deck.
Clyde is a very pretty 6 Metre, built for heavy winds in Scotland. She is lying in Brittany and is awaiting the next stage of her life.
